Updated : Jan 30, 2026

Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt starrer Aditya Dhar’s espionage epic Dhurandhar released on Netflix, today. The film had recently etched its name in history as the first Hindi film to gross over ₹1000 crore net domestically.

Following a monstrous 56-day theatrical run that saw Ranveer Singh return to his peak form, the film transitioned to the small screen at midnight. However, the OTT premiere has sparked immediate social media outrage rather than just celebration.

While audiences were eagerly awaiting an "Uncut" version of the 214-minute theatrical cut, the streaming version has arrived with a shorter runtime of approximately 205 minutes. Reports of muted dialogues and trimmed action sequences have left fans fuming, with many questioning why an "A" rated film faces such heavy-handed censorship on a digital platform.

Despite the backlash over the edits, the film is already trending at the top of the charts. This digital release serves as the final countdown for the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, which is slated for an Eid 2026 release. With the teaser expected to drop tomorrow, the hype remains at an all-time high, even as the "censorship vs. creative freedom" debate continues to dominate the discourse.
